Induction

We have reached full membership and there are no more inductions for this year - sorry!

The aim is to introduce new members to the club.
Specifically to learn about safety and how to use the club and equipment to its best. There is plenty of time to learn how to canoe once you are a member.
You will be a able to paddle as well. If you join you will get a copy of the clubs handbook that has all the information in it that you will learn during your induction.

Format

10.00 Meet & Introduction Meet at the entrance to the clubhouse
Pay the £20 per person (same fee for a family) for the induction
This fee covers the joining fee part of annual membership for Bewl Canoe Club.

Introduction:
You will learn about the club, safety rules and how the club is run by volunteers.
You learn about the facilities we can use.
You learn about when you can paddle and all safety and reservior rules

about 10.30 On the water
We shall change into paddling kit and then introduce you to the canoes/kayaks and equipment at the club's boat shed. After being fitted out with buoyancy aids and paddles we shall go out on Bewl Water for a paddle and to learn about safety on the water.

12.00 End
You will be given a membership form. You can join there and then or take it away and post in you membership if you wish to join.

Bring a change of clothes and a towel in case you capsize by accident or it rains. You will always get a bit wet from the water running down the paddle. There are good showers and changing facilities in the clubhouse.

If you bring a picnic you can enjoy Bewl Water from the bank as well. There may be a group of club members pic-niqing you can join.
