Bewl Canoe Club

What we Offer

Club Paddling

Bewl Canoe Club offers Kayaking/canoeing. The Club has coaches who are able to coach and test up to and including BCU star awards.

During the summer months, April to October, the Club meets on Friday evenings paddling from 5pm until half an hour before sunset. In addition to this, day trips are organised to local rivers, according to demand. In winter, as well as local trips, for those of suitable ability there are weekend and longer trips further afield, e.g. Welsh white water.

Paddle Power (was called Paddlesport)

Since 2011 Bewl Canoe Club has run paddle sport sessions you young people. These run when the water is not too cold in Bewl Water. They are weekly sessions. Each week you have the opportunity to develop your paddling skills and work towards awards.

If you can swim and are under 18 years old you are welcome to join these sessions. If you would like to join Bewl Club Paddle Power session please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it the Bewl Club. More here...

Club Trips

Mainly during the summer months (BST months) there are several trips arranged for club members. These range from paddling on the sea, a gentle paddle along the Medway, night paddle, white water trip in Wales. See some of our pictures here.

Swimming Pool Sessions

As a club we have less club paddling in the winter months (GMT) so we hire a local swimming pool and practice our skills. This is an excellent environment to practice paddling skills and rolling without getting too cold!

Induction Session (for people who want to join Bewl Canoe Club)p1020127

The aim is to introduce potential new members to the Club.
Specifically to learn about safety, how to use the Club and equipment to its best and to try your hand at paddling - to see if this is the sport for you.

Taster Session (introducing paddling to others in our community)

Taster sessions are closed sessions. At times that do not conflict with club sessions, if coaches are available taster sessions are offered to groups. Over the years we have run taster sessions for local schools and clubs.

The aim is to introduce paddling to members of our community, typically via a group, club, society or occasionally a school. We are a club of volunteers not a company.
